These terms apply to the Qadaar mobile app (listed in the stores as “Qadaa” and “Qadaa Calculator - Qaza”) and the website qadaar.io (together, “Qadaar”). Qadaar is provided by BA Solutions, LLC, Tacoma, Washington, USA (“we”, “us”). By using Qadaar you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it.
How we handle your data is described in the Privacy Policy.
What Qadaar is, and is not
Qadaar calculates prayer times, the Qiblah direction and the Hijri date, shows the Qur’an, and estimates the number of prayers and fasts you have to make up (qadaa) using rules of the Hanafi madhab.
Qadaar is a tool, not a religious authority. Prayer times depend on the calculation method, your location and your device’s clock and settings, and may differ from your local mosque’s timetable. The qadaa calculation is an estimate built from the answers you give. For any question of religious practice, including your own qadaa, follow a qualified scholar or your local mosque, and check prayer times against the timetable you trust.
Qadaar is not medical advice. Information you enter about menstruation, pregnancy, childbirth or illness is used only to calculate missed prayers and fasts. It does not diagnose, treat or advise on any health condition.
Your account
You can use Qadaar without an account. If you sign in with Google or Apple, you are responsible for your account on that service and for what is done with Qadaar while signed in. Tell us if you believe someone else is using your account.
You can delete your account at any time in the app (Menu → Delete account) or as described on Delete your account.
Using Qadaar fairly
You agree not to:
- break the law using Qadaar;
- attempt to access other users’ data or our systems without permission, or interfere with how Qadaar works, including by overloading our servers;
- copy, resell or redistribute Qadaar or its content except as the law allows;
- reverse engineer the app, except where the law gives you that right.
We may suspend or close access for anyone who does, and we will tell you why where we can.
Content and rights
Qadaar, including its design, text, graphics and code, belongs to BA Solutions, LLC and is protected by law. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use it for your own, non-commercial purposes.
The Qur’an text and recitations are provided by the Quran Foundation and QuranicAudio, and translations belong to their respective translators; they are used under those providers’ terms. The data you enter stays yours. You let us store and process it only to provide Qadaar to you.
Donations
Qadaar is free. The “Support us” link lets you make a voluntary donation to BA Solutions, LLC to support the app’s development.
- Donations are processed by Stripe on its own payment page, under Stripe’s terms.
- BA Solutions, LLC is a company, not a registered charity. Donations are not tax-deductible, and they are not zakat or sadaqah distributed to others. They fund Qadaar.
- A donation buys nothing: it unlocks no feature, and Qadaar stays the same with or without one.
- If you donated by mistake or were charged the wrong amount, write to info@qadaar.io within 30 days and we will refund it.
App stores
If you downloaded Qadaar from the App Store, Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. If you downloaded it from Google Play, Google Play’s terms also apply. Apple and Google are not responsible for Qadaar or for supporting it; we are. If these terms and a store’s terms conflict, the store’s terms apply to the extent they must.
Changes to Qadaar and to these terms
We improve Qadaar continually, and we may add, change or remove features or stop providing it. If we plan to stop providing Qadaar, we will give reasonable notice so you can keep a record of your data.
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the current version. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app or on this site before it takes effect. If you keep using Qadaar afterwards, the new terms apply.
Disclaimer
Qadaar is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including that Qadaar will be accurate, uninterrupted or error-free, or fit for a particular purpose.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, BA Solutions, LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of data or profits, arising from your use of Qadaar. Our total liability for any claim relating to Qadaar is limited to the greater of the amount you donated to us in the 12 months before the claim and USD 50.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, or takes away rights you have as a consumer under the law of the country where you live.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be heard by the state or federal courts in Pierce County, Washington, unless the law of your country gives you the right to bring a claim where you live.
